Strawberry Festival

This weekend we attended one of our annual favorites: the Strawberry Festival in Portland, TN. Unfortunately, like last year, there was not actually strawberries for sale at the festival. Also like last year Cara, Maxwell, Zara and I ran the 5K Strawberry Stride. Maxwell was the only one who performed up to last year's level:

Cara unfortunately spent most of the race waiting for Zara, who she was unable to motivate. Brittan was also there, but having just had her wisdom teeth out Thursday we thought it was better she didn't run. At the festival Maxwell & Zara did the strawberry eating contest again. Zara came within a single strawberry of placing! She was still chewing when the other kid opened their empty mouth. Now if only we could get her to be that competitive during the race... I also entered the strawberry eating contest, but like Maxwell it was mainly to get free strawberries. When the guy next to me puked I slowed down the pace of my eating and ended up having almost half of them left.
