Driving back to Tennessee now after a fun time seeing family for Mitchell &
Alexandra's wedding. It was a "evening wedding" which in old south parlance
apparently meant tie & jacket. I wore a button shirt and pants, which I
thought was good enough. The Cherokee Town Club which we went to for the
reception had a sign outside that said "jackets required". And they weren't
kidding. They gave me a goofy dinner jacket to wear which I promptly abandoned
on the back of a chair. There was dinner & dancing and no kids outside
outside of the wedding party. My parents told me that it was the same church and
club they'd gone to for Jay & Leslie's wedding a few decades back. And the
run in with Atlanta police who thought they'd stolen their rental car. Atlanta
PD really are idiots. After the reception Cara, Jaime and I Ubered over to the
W hotel in Buckhead to hang out with fam on the rooftop bar. We took shots with
Leslie, caught up on family happenings, and reminisced about trips to Cape San
Blas. Then this morning we had brunch and Zara got to run around with Savy and
the other kids. Those two would be partners in crime if we lived closer. As it
was, they escaped from the restaurant and hatched a plan to ride up and down a
nearby escalator. Cracks me up the things kids think are rebellious!
