A Week in Hilton Head

Sometimes you're just living life too fast to write much about it. These past few weeks have kinda been like that. After a trip midweek to Atlanta, we spent the weekend of the 29th in Alabama to race with Zinners, followed by my week in Boulder when I hit a deer on the way, volunteered at a conference, climbed a 14er and ran the Bolder Boulder 10K, then Cara defended her PhD while Ray spent the week with us in Nashville, then it was down to Hilton Head island for the week where at work we took a major client live and Zinny was attacked by one of Jaime's dogs and ended up getting stitches, followed by a stop in Atlanta on the way home to stay with the Scherrens. Working remotely is great, because I can work anywhere, but I might be taking it a little far. Tomorrow I've got an interviewee coming in from Utah who if we sign on I'll onboard in Ohio after I get back from Seattle where I'm running my second marathon of the year. All while we're packing everything up for Norway.

Phew!

So where are the kids during all this? Alora and Brittan have also decided to move this summer, although it's undermined if Brittan will stay in Atlanta as she's looking for a better paying job than waitressing since she didn't get into grad school. Alora's enjoying her job though, so she'll be inhabiting the ATL for the foreseeable future. Maxwell and Zara, who joined us on the trip to Hilton Head, are staying there for most of the rest of the month. They were originally going to stay until the end of July, but my dad is going to have surgery that last week in June. Ergo, Alora and Brittan will be picking them up a week earlier (probably) and bringing them back up to Atlanta for a solid week of sibling time before an ocean separates them. Oh and they'll be bringing Zinny down to HHI, because she's currently recooperating in Atlanta while Cara & I travel to Seattle. She was going to stay at the beach before my sister's dogs attacked her, but Jaime will be moving them out in a few weeks so it will be okay for her down there then. And my parents' dog Lucy won't have to be lonely then either. Once in Atlanta, Zara will be going to Duke TIP summer camp and Maxwell will get an extra week with just his older sisters before the two of them join me in Nashville for that one way BNA -> BGO flight late July. Cara will have already been there a few week by the time we get there.

Phew!

So, thank you for your patience in the irregularity of blog posts for the time being. Here are some pictures:
