During the past month I've been learning about business in
Norway via the Hordaland Fylkeskommune, roughly the county
government. It's been a great networking experience and I've
learned a great deal about how businesses operate in Norway.
Dealing with the government here is a much more uncertain
propsition than I'm used to in the US. Here they say a lot
"it depends", which roughly means that if you talk to the
right person on the right day you can get what you want to get
done done.
People everywhere are inherently entrepreneurial. It's about
the same as all children start out as scientists. Not only do
we start out asking questions about our world, but we also
use our voices to try to get others to give us what we want.
Call it the trading instinct. Norway is no different. It also
has its own set of society's roadblocks to trade, but so does
every place.
Today was an "alumni" reunion, where we got to meet and network
with people woho have previously taken the business course.
These are all really positive people and I should talk to them
more.
