Acorn Bread Recipe:
3 cups minced, leached acorns (see below)
1 cup flour
2 eggs
1/2 cup brown sugar
3 tsp baking powder
3 tbsp olive oil

Gather the acorns. Shell the acorns, keeping the orangish colored nut inside. Minced the acorns in a blender or nut grinder. Place the minced acorns in a towel and tie it around the faucet like so:

Run a small stream of warm water over the acorns until the water coming off is no longer yellow (10-15 minutes). Preheat oven to 400°F. Mix all ingredients together thoroughly in a bowl. Pour into a breadpan. Bake about 30 minutes. Serve to the children and see their reactions! Here are my kids:
