This is a Moving Summer

We have two kinds of summers: Roadtrip Summers & Moving Summers. This Summer is a Moving Summer.

Deutschland won the World Cup yesterday & I watched with all the kids while Cara helped Kanutte pack up their apartment. The Huses are moving back to Norway this week. We moved from Fairview to Brentwood the previous weekend. Both are suburbs of Nashville, but the theory is that Brentwood Middle School will be better than Fairview Middle School was when A&B attended there. Maxwell will be starting the 6th grade this Fall. Other advantage of the new place: less than 2 miles from my new job. I have already rollerbladed to work!

This Summer is also a Moving Summer because I moved jobs. I left PatientFocus to join a startup that is just a few months old! At LeadsPedia I am building a SaaS application for lead resellers - companies that buy and sell leads. It has been a wonderful change for my own personal growth - both as a programmer and healthwise. Everyone at the company has Nike Fuelbands and we are competing to see who can get the most. Somehow I have won both weeks so far, which my ex-military coworkers find a bit frustrating. Nike's API is whitelisted to approved applications however, so I couldn't do anything untoward even if I wanted to though... I had no idea that there were such market facilitators before I started at LeadsPedia, but, if you've seen Glengary Glenn Ross, you know leads are pretty darn important in a number of businesses. The company is growing so fast that my first month there saw us moving to a bigger office - yet another move.

If fact, there are a lot of people at my job moving this Summer. One from Seattle; another from Michigan; a couple guys moving their families out to Fairview and Spring Hill. And my sister, the military wife, is also moving yet again - fortunately not across the country this time! Brittan is also moving from Mary Baldwin to Vanderbilt to finish her undergraduate education. Did I miss anybody? May all your Summer moves go well!
