Ruins of Athens

We're currently taking a post lunch break back at our AirBnB just a short walk from the Acropolis. We spent the middle of the day exploring Athens' castle mount, from ruins to caves, to the under reconstruction Parthenon which is the main tourist attraction. It's really incredible to think about these things having been created thousands of years ago. While the girls slept Maxwell & I visited the ruins of the Temple of Zeus to start the day. He was fascinated by the remains of old Roman baths and we saw these incredible green birds. I think we took ALL the pictures. It's quite a bit hotter here than Bergen, which is a plus but the sun really wears once down. Hence our late afternoon break. It was almost a joke to see the stadium built for the 1896 Olympics (when that tradition was restarted) because there are things built millennia earlier just a stones throw away.
