So I'm up again at 7:30 AM with the sun shining brightly in my
face. Because we are in a valley surrounded by mountains it
doesn't rise above them until about 6:30 and doesn't fall
behind the them until nearly 9 at night, but there is plenty of light
before and after that. Cara is having the worst time of it and
not getting enough sleep. Last night she was out on the quay
with the kids while they took turns kayaking around our little
harbor when I came out to join them for a bit just after
sunset. So like 9 o'clock. I took a turn on the kayak after
the kids. I am fairly uncoordinated controlling the kayak; it
wobbles a lot for me in the water and I find myself making
unintended circles to avoid another swim back to shore dragging
it behind me. This is kind of all crazy because a week ago it
was snowing and the fjord was still icebound. There was still
plenty of twilight left when we finally went inside.
