I'm sitting by the fairway in Incline Village sipping Two Buck
Chuck, which actually now costs $2.99 - still way cheaper by
far than anything we can get in Norway. This morning started
early in Brentwood (I woke up at 4:45), and I spent the better
part of the morning working at Starbucks after working a bit
at the Yedalwar's where we spent the night. They are great
people to have seen now two months in a row, and I hope we
have the opportunity to reciprocate at some point.
The late afternoon was spent driving up to Tahoe where we'll
be based for the next couple weeks as all the family comes in
for Kristen's wedding. There will be so many people here we
only see every few years at weddings! The last was Mitchell
Fortune's in Atlanta.
I sent the kids down to 7-Eleven to get slurpees while Cara is
making dinner. Maybe that is not the best idea for them
actually eating dinner, but I wanted them to realize they can
get out and do things here like at home. America tends to be
such a car-centric culture kids can feel disempowered and
retreat into technology.
