Today the kids an I began our training for the Stolzekleiven
Opp, tackling the stairs and then hiking across to Fløyen for
some pølser. I tried to handicap the climb it so we'd all finish about
the same time. Zara set off about 10 minutes before I did, and
I tried to convince Maxwell to wait at least 2 minutes before
following me up but he was after me roughly 30 seconds after I
started and quickly passed me. Zara was the real surprise,
completing the climb in only 27 minutes. I came in at 20 and
Maxwell at 17, both a few minutes off from our race pace last
year.
To escape from the house this evening I'm sitting at Ujevnt
near the terminus of the 51 busline downtown. It's a fairly
empty bar and has good wifi to work by. I've been a little OCD
about work since I got back here, working like 12 hour days.
I was hoping to be a little more chill this evening, but events
unfolded otherwise. At least I spent most of the afternoon
outside with the kids i fjellene.
