Pictures: Naumburg | Wittenberg

I'm typing this on the Autobahn. Earlier I was driving 100 mph with the other cars but now we're completely stopped. One of those great traffic jams where people get out of their cars to try and get a better look at what's happening. I'm driving from Naumburg where I spent the last night to Wittenberg, where I'm going to nail something on some church doors. Just kidding. I don't sleep that well. Suffering from nightmares is no place to originate a belief systen from.

So I've seen the door Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to, and tonight I'm sleeping a few blocks away. I did finally make it here, lol! Luther excites me as a historical figure because he championed the idea that men shouldn't blindly trust their spiritual leaders, but should instead think for themselves. When taking an unpopular stance I have often drawn inspiration from his statement when put on trial: "Hier stehe ich. Ich kann nicht anders." Also, being in more out of the way parts of Deutschland has forced me to speak Deutsch, and I'm actually not so bad. I found a karaoke bar for later that gives you a free Schnapps for every song sung. For dinner I enjoyed a WittenBurger...
