FLR -> AMS

Currently over Mitteleuropa on my way back home from Firenze. We had a flight delay because the airspace was so crowded. The summer invasion of American tourists is in full swing and on the streets of Firenze I heard Americans talking as much if not more than Italians. It's a beautiful city and I wish I had more time to see it. The lines for most of the major attractions were terrible though! I didn't want to wait so I skipped the museums and spent my time enjoying architecture and gardens. Next time I will try to come in the off season. But the race really made it all worth it! I feel stiff and tired today, but no blisters and my nipples are surprisingly fine despite the complete failure of the supposedly "water proof" bandaids I spent way to much on in an Italian apothecary. I am really looking forward to my next ultra in August in Utah. Best way to spend my 40th birthday in my opinion. And that will be quite a bit hotter than Tuscany was!
