Struggling to put words to my feelings...

You really can never go home again
There's an echo left
In the thunder
But somehow it's twisted and wrong

New park, new store, new trail,
The old replaced,
Forgotten,
Overgrown.

Life moves forward without you
Decay envelops that untended
Not in darkness,
But in a terrible brightness of light

We've only just barely beat back the jungle
It's still there on the edges
Ready to return whenever we look aside
