Google Maps Timeline - A Year Ago and Today

For a while now Google Maps sends me an email every month telling me where I've been. Of course I already know this, but wrapping a little more quantatative data around it makes it a bit more fun. November's review, for example, in addition to listing the towns of Haugesund and Koperik told me that I'd traveled over nine thousand kilometers in 2020. Considering that I live in a small country which I haven't left all year, my first thought was I'll bet it was ten times as much last year! Sure enough, looking back at the November email from 2019 which listed my trips that month to Billund in Denmark, Valetta in Malta, and Catania in Sicily, I saw that in the first eleven months of last year I traveled over eighty-five thousand kilometers. And I know that leaves out my trips to Berlin and Nice after my phone was stolen before I got a new one in April. How strange a change this year has been!
