To Danzig . . .3 August 2021 - Flesland Back the airport this time for a true nonstop. To Danzig. I haven't been there since 2018 when I went with Maxwell. Going to spend some days on the Baltic seashore. I'm curious if at anyone will check my ID this time. I already got past security without scanning my boarding pass. For travel to Poland I need my all important EU/EEA Covid passport as well as a document verifying that I have filled out the Polish government form about where I am staying. At least I think that's all I need. All the forms and bureaucracy are something of a joke. If I had driven from Switzerland instead of flying home to Bergen and back out again then there would have been no one checking anything at the Polish border. And if there's a way around security, then it's just a pointless hassle. My boarding pass wasn't scanning to let me into the airport today, so the guard just let me through. All I needed to fake the printed piece of paper was knowledge of a flight number and time today. And it got me in. All I came back from the US with after getting vaccinated was a little card with stickers. Not as easy, but still quite fakeable. Which is why it's not accepted in Europe. But it was enough to convince my Norwegian doctor to enter it into the government database as valid vaccinations. So I have a QR code that says I'm good to travel in Europe. At least until they lock everything down again. Here's hoping they won't. |
