Venice is a much larger city out on the islands than I expected and walking is pretty much the only way to get around on the streets, many of which are tiny. Ferries connect the major tourist points however, and there are boat taxis available although I didn't take one. It was crazy to see all the speedboats zooming around the canals during the morning rush hour. I feel like I would really need at least a month here to explore everything.
