Put our Rubelit apple tree in the ground today. It was a tough hole to dig, one hits a rocky grey clay about 40 cm down. ![]() Planted some bell peppers today in the beds where nothing seems to grow. Will they live? ![]() Took some last pictures this morning. Plants are easier to understand than people. ![]() ![]() We're well into the salad enjoying days of the garden, with plenty of sharp arugula and radishes ready to eat. The carrots were a wash, so Iwona replanted those beds before coming to Ireland. Fingers crossed this time is a success. ![]() Today was about weeding. There were really strong weeds under the trampoline that became our garden spot, and they keep coming back. The arugula, cilantro and radishes are doing well. I think the onions are growing, but I haven't ruled out that it may just be more grass. I weeded a lot of grass today. The bean plants are a bit sad and partially eaten. Snails? Slugs? I do not know. The carrots have not come up at all and I think giving up on them may be the right thing to do at this point. Maybe some potatoes there instead? ![]() The garden has been in the ground now for a month and appears to be doing well in some parts, but not others. The cilantro, arugula and oregano survived being buried in snow. The beans, radishes and onions have started to sprout from the seeds - no sign of the carrots though. Paula was terrorizing the place so she's now been fenced out, much to her chagrin. We also have gotten a few tomato plants from Iwona's aunt in Poland and some mint from a neighbor that haven't gone into the ground yet. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
