Bergen
28 March 2023 - Somewhere over the North Sea
It's been a long week. I've spent most days doing something with Maxwell while in Bergen. We've been up in the mountains, shared meals, and practiced interviewing for the summer internship he hopes to get. It's been great! It's also been hard being here and not seeing Zara. She's still fully under the thrall of her mother and insists I'm a bad guy who can therefore be lied to, stolen from, and treated with disrespect if not contempt. I really understand why so many dads give up. Parental alienation is the most painful thing that I've had to deal with in my life and being in Bergen is just like poking the open wound.
Now I am happily headed back to Iwona and the life we're building together in Switzerland.
