This weekend I finished reading the O'Reilly book Cloud Native, which pretty well describes how we run web applications circa 2020. It seems like there are a lot of complexities compared to what we were doing circa 2010, but there are well-justified reasons for introducing most of them. This book does a good job of not only being descriptive, but also explaining the business reason for introducing these complexities.
