26 Oktober 2023 - Zürich Today finds me back on my way to back to Spain for the 3rd time this year, but not to walk the Camino. I'm headed to Málaga to run a half marathon and complete my goal of running races in 4 new countries this year. It'll be the third half this month, which is also a record for me. I don't like to waste time and this month I seem to have an overabundance of it. I decided only on Tuesday to look for another race in a new country this month, and then it was a matter of finding a race which matched up with cheap plane tickets. I'm flying with Vueling, where they upcharge for just about everything. A carryon is cheaper than a checked back, but still costs something. Selecting a seat also has an upcharge, which I didn't think much of until I got an email last night that said they unfortunately had a smaller plane so not everyone could fly. Furthermore, online checkin was not available to people in the free seats, although I could pay 50 euros to get one. Extortion much? So I got to the airport early and managed to get their last seat - in first class! I was really angry about the extortionate business practices of Vueling. Too angry. I need to work on not letting things like this get me worked up and stressed. A cheessburger in the aiport brought me down though, so maybe it was partially hangriness. I did have three delicious waffles Iwona made for breakfast though, so who knows. The weather should be warm and sunny in Málaga, so I'll be doing some swimming in the Mediterranean. |
