1 November 2023 - Torremolinos Yanis Varoufakis is a Greek politician, which I did not know when I picked up this book in Dublin earlier this year. Having daughters the title probably hit a soft spot in in my heart. Although Varoufakis claims credentials as an economist, there's a depressing amount of complaining about the rich not "paying their fair share". The discussion of fractional reserve banking is not bad, but it's surrounded by a lot of literary arguments against other aspects of the free market system which evidence a remarkable lack of historical knowledge. This one is not worth reading. ![]() |
