Die with ZeroPrevious | Books | Index | 日本語 | October Game | Training | Next 9 October 2024 - Istanbul Bill Perkins' Die with Zero is a book I've had my eye on for some time as it appeared to encapsulate some of my own philosophical ideas about life. He excellently lays out the reasoning for enjoying life now rather that overworking yourself until you die just to leave a big pile of money behind. I will probably never have a big pile of money for a number of reasons, but mostly because I push myself to enjoy life to the fullest. He also advocates passing down money to your kids early if you do have a pile, but if you die in your eighties it won't be much use to them in their sixties. This is a point I have argued unsuccessfully with my parents for years, trying to get them and then my mom to write me out of her will and let my inheritance pass directly to my kids. They'll be at much better place in their lives to get value out of the money than I will be whenever my mom dies. Overall it was reassuring to read that someone else much wealthier than me thinks about these things the same way I do. ![]() |
