16 July 2025 - La Côte-Saint-André
I broke camp at 6AM this morning in Le Pin after a night of disturbed sleep courtesy of the noisy farm animals in nearby fields. I could swear the horse was right on top of my tent its neigh was so loud. The first part was woods, woods, woods, and up and over a ridge to reveal a beautiful valley below. I had my morning coffee and a break in Le Grand-Lemps. Then the path hugged the ridge above and through village after village until this one. But the map I have doesn't always match the marked trail. A kilometer from La Côte-Saint-André the marked trail inexplicably heads up the hill to who knows where. I will have to go find it again in a little while. Right now I'm having a break and charging my laptop in a bar with AC. I could not believe my luck!
