27 July 2025 - Frombork Sitting in what was once Frauenburg in Prussia looking up at the castle where Copernicus worked and wrote and made the sun, rather than the earth, the center. It seems like a small thing today, but a few centuries back it was heresy that could get one imprisoned or killed. Now it's a sleepy little town on the Vistula Lagoon of the Baltic Sea. Russia controls the only outlet from the lagoon. We saw the castle, museum, observation tower, and cathedral in the morning. After lunch we took a taxi to the Russian border and walked back from there on the Droga św. Jakuba. It was a good day! ![]() |
