9 November 2025 - Podgorica
Montenegro so far has been a treat. Iwona and I went through Budva,
Kotor, Nikšić, Ostrog, and Podgorica. This morning she unfortunately
had to leave, but I ran the Millennium Run here in Podgorica. Just
the half as that seems to be the distance that works for me and the
full marathon was just two repeats of the half anyway. At 2:07:42 it
was my fastest half in the Balkans, and better than the
Greifenseelauf earlier this fall. And I didn't get lapped by the
fastest marathon runners! Postrace I'm flooded with endorphins so
that may cloud my judgement, but I'm really proud to have raced in
25 European countries now.
My plan for the afternoon involves the hot tub at the hotel and a
nap, but tomorrow, quite randomly, I'm meeting my cousin Julie who's
performing on a Christian music cruise that's stopping in
Montenegro. I don't think I've had the chance to see her since dad's
funeral.
