Last night we watched the surprisingly excellent Jay Kelly. George Clooney stars and Adam Sandler plays a strong supporting role. The way they seemlessly blend flashbacks and current events to tell the story of a dad loosing touch with his adult kids. Needless to say I can relate. When I walked through the doors of St. Peter's in Rome last month I tried to take the plenury indulgence to heart and make a break with the past. I sent all my kids postcards afterward to tell them I love them without expecting a response. I think that's why I could watch Jay Kelly without waterworks.
