Velociraptors |

When I was a small boy I shared a room with my brother. Then as a teen I got my own room and fell asleep to music. After Jurassic Park came out I would sometimes have nightmares about velociraptors and I'd have to leave a light on to get back to sleep. But it was not many years until I was sleeping with my girlfriend who then became my wife for a couple decades. For many of those years there were babies sleeping in between us. After divorce there have been girlfriends and dogs and I still don't like sleeping alone. And sometimes the velociraptors still come to haunt my nights. All my doors now are the kind they know how to open. If they got on the roof the bedroom skylight is big enough for them to break through. So last night, awakened at 3AM by a nightmare of velociraptors, I left then kitchen light on like a small boy so I could get back to sleep.
