17 September 2026 - Aubrac Philip Turpin gave me The Eye of the World 13 years ago, which led to myself and my family reading their way through the Wheel of Time series over the next couple years. My daughter Brittan even referred to herself online as Brittan Sedai for a while. It had a big effect on us all. So to jump back into that world with New Spring was a real treat. Especially as I wander across the French countryside from one walled medieval town to another. It is not hard to imagine myself in the world Robert Jordan created. Of course, Jordan's later work is slow on action while deep on description. New Spring is no exception. Still, it's beautifuly written. ![]() |
