No, no it isn't. There were flurries several times, but never enough to stick. Maybe next month will finally give us an opportunity to break
out our fancy new snow shovels.
Update: Of course, I wrote this this morning so it had to snow all day - good, clumpy big snow. Unfortunately only a dusting of it stuck
in the late afternoon. It was enough to throw a snowball at Maxwell though, and for Zara to eat some and Brittan to make a snow angel in the
yard.

This morning the girls got up in the wee hours to hit the shops for Black Friday. When they returned dad and I headed out to test and see if
Empyrean really did make the best beer in town. Yes, yes they do. Tonight we
took the kids bowling and
then lit another fire and watched White Christmas.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
26 November 2008 - Medical Updates
It's not a month at the Wogsland's without stitches these days. This month's winner was Maxwell - four in the forehead after falling into a chair
in the kitchen. (He's kind of a wild man.) Alora has finally achieved her dream and convinced an optometrist that she needs glasses, although
unusually for someone her age she is far-sighted. Then of course there's the holiday sick: Zara gave it to me and then Jaime ... but tonight
she's puking so I don't know what tomorrow will be like. At least there will be turkey!

Well, the internet's been on the fritz for the past week, but a lady climbed the pole out back this morning so it should be okay now. We've
been enjoying our time with Jaime and today she ran a 5K with us:
Brad 30:24
Brittan 34:15
Alora 38:06
Jaime 38:08
Alora got a cramp midway through, so Jaime walked with her. Meanwhile Nanny and Poppy were flying on an airplane and we picked them up this
afternoon.

Zara has an infatuation with Eliases. When Jaime first got here, she confused her with Julie ... which frustrated Jaime a little. I know,
shades of Dell last summer. And Zara has
an inability to pass up a good taunt. She also likes to sing "nah, nah, nah, nah, nah - I go the corner seat!" when she beats Maxwell to their
favorite seat at our kitchen table. I definitely understand why the previous owners left that lovely kitchen bench behind. Zara manipulates
her sisters by playing pitiful and crying and me by acting cute and perfect. No one is immune. It will be interesting to watch her learn 20
some odd people's weaknesses at the beach over Christmas (hint: if she wants to spend a lot of time with you, then she finds you easy to
control).

Has anyone else noticed the internet sort of died after the election? It's almost like the whole blogosphere posted one last "Ha-Ha the
world is all sunshine and rainbows now!" or "Doom is upon us!" and left to go outside in meatspace and rake up a pile of leaves for the kids
to jump in. Unless, of course, you live in place where it's been either below 32 degrees or raining for the past week. And that's an
exclusive or in the preceding sentence unfortunately...
7 November 2008 - Jaime est arrivé!
My sister has come to stay with us for the month of November. I say "my" sister very loosely as she and Cara have been friends since we
started dating. My sister was the same age as my eldest daughters then, and back then my "girlfriend" would come over and ignore me to play
with my sister. It is amazing how quickly they fall back into that rapport...
Today during lunch my lunch hour I bought gas ($2.15/gal), bought a lottery ticket ($20 million), voted (Ron Paul), and ate at home with Cara,
Zara (just getting home from preschool) and Maxwell (home after a night of puking). Was the lottery ticket or the Ron Paul vote more of a
long shot I wonder?
2 November 2008
Tomorrow the kiddoes go back to school after a weeklong break. Cara has nary been happier. It's kind of funny - I thought she would enjoy
getting her sewing buddies back, but apparently they're a little wilder during the middle of the day than they are at night. And while Zara
is a handfull, Zara plus Maxwell is insanity.
1 November 2008 - Quote of the Day
This morning I was fixing everyone maple-cured bacon and eggs for breakfast and Alora came into the kitchen. Quoth Alora:
Mmmmmm . . . . It smells like Dell's kitchen in here.
