Today I sent the following missive to Nebraska's Senator Ben Nelson: Government should not be in the business of healthcare. Couch it in whatever flowery language you like, the Democrat leadership's plan eviscerates the freedom which has long inspired adherents to the party of Jefferson. The "public option" or, more accurately, the government option is a Trojan Horse to take over the healthcare industry much in the way Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae have taken over the lending industry. Do not vote for cloture or you will damn us all to government tyranny in yet another section of our lives.
