Mâconnais

Bourgogne

The Mâconnais is located in the central part of Bourgogne south of the Côte Chalonnaise and north of Beaujolais. A white wine regions Chardonnay and Aligoté are grown there. The village of Chardonnay is located there as well, but whether the varietal was named after the village or vice versa is not known.
