Valtellina Superiore is a red wine grown in the Sondrio province of the Lombardian region. It is a DOCG version of the DOC Valtellina Rosso declared in 1998. This wine is made from at least 90% Nebbiolo and 14% alcohol. It must be aged at least two years, three to be labeled Riserva. In addition, there are 4 subzones which may appear on the label if all the grapes for the wine were grown within their boundaries: Sassella, Grumello, Inferno and Valgella.
