Tweet The final segment of the Via Gebennensis is also only 18 kilometers and continues the descent through the rolling hills. At Eynac there is another impressive volcano core of columnar basalt. There are fields and small towns until the road reaches the large town of Brives-Charensac and we cross the Loire. From there it's not far to Le Puy, which has the most impressive tours formed from remnant volcano cores of the journey.
