La Romieu - Condom Via Podiensis, France Trails Index | Via Podiensis

This is the second short section in a row. La Romieu is a quaint little town, but one that knows how to milk tourists. The church has an admission fee and the swimming pool requires men to wear a thong or close to it, which they are of course happy to sell. The walk to Condom procedes mostly through farmland with the occasional forest path going up or down a hill, of which they are plenty. Along the way on passes through Castelnau sur l'Auvignon, where the Wehrmacht had a battle with Spanish republican guerrillas in 1944 just before D-Day. I wonder if they thought the Americans and British would come and save them from Fascism as well.
