Montcuq-en-Quercy-Blanc to Lauzerte

Lot & Tarn-et-Garonne, France

Trails Index | Via Podiensis

After Montcuq there are a lot of fields and turns and it is easy to get lost. Then it's down and up another hill and one crosses into the Tarn-et-Garonne department. Along the way one can detour up to the tiny town of Montlauzun, but there is nothing there but water. Lauzerte is on the top of a high hill, but first one must make the steep descent to the valley around it. The larger stores of the town are here in the valley while the medieval old town is at the summit of the hill. At only 14 kilometers I think this is the shorted segment on the Via Podiensis.
