Logroño - Nájera La Rioja, España Trails Index | Camino de Santiago

This section of the Camino goes over the hill from Logroño to Nájera. In 2022 I started at Logroño around lunchtime, so this section took 2 days to complete. An hour up the hill from Logroño is the La Grajera park and lake, which sadly one is not allowed to swim in. Naverrete is another 5 km further and has a nice square with restaurants on top of a hill of course. After that it's the small village of Ventosa which fortunately had a food truck where I could get dinner. As I ate in the fading sunlight children on bicycles circled the square laughing and racing and just enjoying life. I couldn't help but absorb some of that infectious joy. I camped east of the town in a field. It was a cloudy night, so I slept in and didn't make Nájera until lunchtime. In Nájera I had a delicious burger at Café Bar Caribe.
