This segment of the Alpine Panorama Trail starts in the medieval walled city of Gruyères. From there it goes up, up into the mountains. The views are breathtaking, but the climb will also have you sucking wind. It's nearly a kilometer of unhilll without a break for the first half of this segment until one reaches the base of Moléson. After skirting the cliffs of this peak the trail descends slowly down through many wooded areas to the small town of Les Paccots.
