Today I sat down to write an About Me section for my website. I know. It seems like something I should have done a long time ago. I have to admit I don't like it. Encapsulate who you are in a few paragraphs? For what audience? All audiences! I find my interested to be so diverse that I can bore almost anyone. Forget about SEO. Being a Renaissance Man means that my life story defies simple characterization. The story, rather than have an easily understandable arc, jumps around.

The About Mes on most people's websites have sales purpose: here I am; here's what I can do; buy me! That didn't really feel appropriate to me here. My website has always been more about sharing information. "Quality Musings Since 1998" The About Me I wrote today reflects that. It's more informative about who I am, my interests, and the information one can find on this website.
