Today is the darkest day of the year, the start of Winter. Going
forward every day will be longer, pushing back the darkness until
the wend of the solstice comes around again. My feelings on this
day of darkness are mixed. My Fall was exciting, but now that is
all over.
I'd hoped to be employed by now, but my intent on
finding a larger, profitable company to work for rather than
another startup has meant a longer hiring process. Prospects are
still bright and moving forward on the jobhunt though.

I woke up this morning with a Jimi Hendrix song on the tip of my
tongue to Cara with breakfast from McDonald's. She's such a
sweetheart sometimes. Four hashbrowns and a strawberry banana
smoothie were quickly gobbled down by me before I got ready for
the day.

Odd thing just happened to me at Starbucks. I'm sitting at a large
table were there are two groups of plastics and where there were
seven empty seats. A woman just sat down right next to me rather
than any of the other 6 seats which would have put her next to
one of the plastics. Apparently giant bearded flannel man is less
scary than plastics? How odd...

Lately I've been reading a lot about eastern philosophy. I blame
Dr. Strange for putting me on this kick. I also blame the
movie for the kids no longer enjoying dad driving fast on windy
roads. And I mean roads with dangerous curves, not particularly
breezy ones.
