The sixth of September seems like a special day. Looking at
the Wikipedia page for today,
however, it seems that only minor historical events occurred
today. The biggest I would say is Cal Ripken breaking Lou
Gehrig's consecutive major league baseball game record, but as that sport fades into
history along with so much of what was once great about
America I daresay it will cease to matter much in the long run.
As for important birthdays
there is
fiction: Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham..., where the lovers'
fathers share the date as a birthday. The movie touched us to
such a degree that Zara's middle name, Anjali, is from the
girl of this story. I always hear the date in my head in one
of the voices of the characters from the movie. On the other
end of life Madeleine L'Engle, who's Wrinkle in Time
series I am currently reading to the kids, died on this day in
2007.
