Venice Beach

I'm glad I decided to stay my first night in California on the beach. I fell asleep to the sound of music (outside my window at a nearby bar, but also the Laibach album of that name). I've always thought of LA as crazy expensive, but everything - the cab, the food, the drinks, the hotel, etc. - is still so much cheaper than Bergen. Why the fuck do I live in Bergen?
