I can't thank Jack London enough for the way he ended
White Fang, with the title character playing with his
puppies as their mother is restrained because she fears him
and wouldn't allow it. The analogy to my own life was not lost
on the children and Zara especially was vehemently rooting for
White Fang to play with his puppies. Reading this tale to them
nightly has been such a comforting experience for us all, and
to have it end that way was beyond perfect. Cara is still
trying to take custody away from me in court, but in the end
it will come down to what Maxwell and Zara say they want. All
Cara can really do is make it cost a lot of money for me,
which seems to be her spiteful goal. I must find a way to cool
her anger, but if we're getting divorced why the fuck is that
still my responsibility? I wish there way some way to protect
myself from her continuing to hurt me and try to take things
from me. Why can't we just part ways amicably and split things
up evenly?
