I spent the night last night in my new house - the first house
I've ever picked out for myself. It's at the top of the road
by the trail to Damsgårdfjellet with a view across to Lyderhorn,
across to Askøy, and down to the bay of Bergen. I settled on a
lot of details that weren't important, but were on my list
of must haves. Like being by the water. I spend everyday on my
computer, so I need a good long view out the window. I got that.
And there's a Rema 1000 quite close at the bottom of the hill.
And the buses drop me off here until 3AM on the weekends.
After California I've spent most of my time with Ane until I
left her yesterday morning. I feel like I've crossed over into
a different world where I am safe and things are so perfect.
Last night I looked back at the journal entry I wrote when I
first met Ane. It is like an oasis of calm in a sea of
complexity. It was really love at first sight, but I was
afraid to believe it was true. I'm not afraid anymore.
