Askøy på Langs

Yesterday was my birthday and I decided to celebrate it like I did my 40th, with a long trail run. The Askøy på Langs trail stretches across the length of the island of Askøy, from Herdla to Kleppestø. And it has been on my bucket list for some time. So yesterday I thought I would take a shot at it. I parked my car in Kleppestø and took a bus out to Herdla where the trail starts around the golf course along a rocky beach. The trail is not so well marked in places, so I got lost a number of times casuing me to backtrack and even loop around. Thus I found myself in waning light and decided to shorten the run by going over Dronningen and then on my usual route back home rather than trying to make it all the way to Kleppestø. In the end my phone died going up Dronningen and I ended up only running about 35 kilometers. Still, I'd classify it as a evening well spent!
