Today is my last day in Hawai'i for this trip and, although I'd like to come back, I'm not sure when thet'll happen. Newborn Jaxon was a big part of why I prioritized coming here now and meeting him has been well worth it. He's a relaxed, sweet little guy who I've gotten to know. Of course, he's a smiler and warms up to most people pretty quickly, but having him smile when he sees me still melts my heart. Even though we only share 1/8th of our genes he's still the next generation of our family. Well, I guess technically he's the same generation as my kids, but so much younger. Kristen and Dillon are such relaxed, loving parents I'm sure Jaxon will grow up that way. And have plenty of athletic opportunities! Living on opposite sides of the Earth it'll probably be at least a couple years before I see them all again (it's been 4.5 since the last time). I know how much my dad would have loved Jaxon, and we're connected by both having my dad's name as our middle name. He's lucky that he inherited the Mediterranean skin tone rather than the Nordic one I got though. I'm going to enjoy watching him grow up!
