I haven't given a fully prepared talk at a conference with slides and everything since before Covid. I used to really enjoy it. The past couple years I've been attending the local SoCraTes conferences which as unconferences present me the opportunity to talk even if I haven't prepared anything. Usually I find myself talking about non-technical topics like working at start-ups or the frequeny with which we switch jobs. It makes me wonder if I'm more of a business guy than a tech guy. The local language meetup groups also seem to have been killed off by Covid, which means the opportunities to speak to smaller groups just aren't there either. It's something that I want to bring back into my life, but I haven't found a good path yet. There's another SoCraTes tomorrow in Zürich though, so I'll be going to that.
