I think I first encountered TypeScript when I volunteered at LambdaConf in 2017, but I didn't have the opportunity to use it professionally until last year. Naturally I picked up an O'Reilly book: Josh Goldberg's Learning TypeScript. As often happens, I read the first few chapters and then set it aside. Language introductions are often dry and Goldberg's book is no exception. Still, it lays out the basic features of Typescript in an easily understandable way.
