3 January 2024 - Adetswil

This morning I find myself in the familiar position of convalescing with a sore lower back. I added situps to my regular routine this past year in the hopes of staving off this particular injury, but alas not. I started a strength training routine with dumbells on Monday, so that could be the trigger. Or it might have been bad psture working at the kitchen table. I really don't think it was running yesterday.

To intellectualize my pursuit of fitness I have been reading Roy Meals book on Muscle, which took me back to freshman biology and then biophysics in college. Meals book is written at a popular level however, and being a medical doctor he can't resist illustrating things with pathological cases. Seeing how things can break in the body is humbling and interesting to the reader. I can see why Nature recommended it.
