Groundhog Day 2024 - Adetswil

Not mentioned in the video above is the practice of writing which I've been doing here for a couple decades now. Looking back through the years at what I've written on Groundhog Day (when I wrote anything) is interesting. Two years ago I was writing tongue in cheek about Illegal Immigrants in Switzerland when I found what looked like raccoon tracks in the snow in the Tobel. The year before was deep in the Pandemic and so I wrote about a silly rule that led them to serve Potato Soup at Apollon in Bergen. Visiting there with Iwona just a couple weeks ago I recounted that story, which I still feel is a great example of the silliness of government rules. Pre-pandemic saw me writing about books by Andrew Yang and Nathan Pyle. In 2018 I was writing about Groundhog Day and how unlike Bill Murray's character in the movie I've yet to learn to play the piano. While that's still true, I did enjoy an hour at Flesland tickling the ivories waiting for our flight back home last month. 2015 saw me describing a day that seems quite familiar to me today, although the characters around me have all changed. And the Superbowl now falls later in February. 2013 also saw a snowy day in Tennessee, and, whereas the pictures that were on Shutterfly are no longer available, there are still videos of Zara sledding and Hops discovering snow. The years before are a few more videos of Maxwell and Zara discussing VeggieTales and discovering how to open their closet.
