The Luckiest Idiot

One of the things Americans struggle with in Europe is the 24 hour time system. Military time, as we call it in the USA. 13:45 is not the same as 3:45. It's 1:45 in the afternoon. Our number system is not base 12, so the fact that our time system is not is confusing. When flights send emails with calendar events I am saved from myself, but not today. I scheduled a flight a while ago for 13:45 today and then added it to my calendar at 3:45 in the afternoon. When did I realize this error? At 12:45 today, about an hour before my flight on the bus to the train to the airport when I got an email saying my flight was delayed. I would not have made it had my flight been on time. I am the luckiest idiot.
